Chicago – A campanha de Kamala Harris para obter a nomeação democrata e disputar a Presidência dos EUA avança com velocidade nesta segunda-feira, 22. Já foi conquistado o suporte de mais de milénio delegados e houve recorde de arrecadação de doações, que atingiram US$ 81 milhões em 24 horas.
O objetivo é tentar prometer a nomeação porquê candidata do partido até quarta-feira, segundo membros da campanha.
“O que ouvi da campanha e de diversos democratas é que querem tentar resolver isso até quarta-feira. Pode ser que eles consigam antecipar a votação dos delegados”, diz Mauricio Moura, professor da Universidade George Washington e exegeta do programa O Caminho para a Moradia Branca, uma produção da EXAME e da Gauss Capital.
“Pode ser um pouco de ‘wishful thinking’, mas há um trabalho grande sendo feito. O que me impressionou foi que de ontem para hoje o suporte está sendo cada vez maior”, prossegue Moura.
Segundo uma pesquisa feita pela escritório Associated Press, até o primórdio da tarde, mais de 1.000 delegados democratas disseram que vão escolher Kamala porquê candidata. O número é mais da metade do necessário para ela prometer a nomeação. Ao todo, há murado de 4.000 delegados no partido.
A Convenção Vernáculo Democrata está marcada para 19 a 22 de agosto em Chicago. No evento, os delegados entregarão formalmente seus votos para definir o candidato do partido. A campanha de Kamala quer prometer que a maioria deles se comprometa a votar nela antes do evento, para evitar uma disputa oportunidade.
Há ainda a possibilidade de ser feita uma votação virtual, antes da convenção, para confirmar Kamala porquê candidata.

A vice também obteve suporte público de grandes figuras do partido e de outros nomes que poderiam disputar a Presidência. Nesta segunda, Nancy Pelosi, ex-presidente da Câmara, declarou suporte a ela.
Entre os rivais na disputa que a endossaram, estão os governadores Gavim Newsom (Califórnia), Josh Shapiro (Pensilvânia), JB Pritzker (Illinois), Phill Murphy (Novidade Jersey) e Gretchen Whitmer (Michigan), além de Pete Buttigieg, secretário de Transportes, endossaram a candidatura de Kamala, em um sinal de que não vão disputar a posição.
Com isso, estes democratas passam a ser opções para criar a placa de Kamala porquê candidatos à posição de vice-presidente.
Doações em nível recorde
A campanha de Kamala divulgou ter levantado US$ 81 milhões nas primeiras 24 horas em seguida a decisão de Joe Biden de desistir da disputa, e disse que nascente foi o maior valor já arrecadado por uma campanha em exclusivamente um dia na história do país.
As doações vieram de mais de 880 milénio doadores, sendo que 60% deles colaboraram pela primeira vez, segundo o comitê de Kamala.
A vice-presidente fez um exposição de alguns minutos pela manhã, durante um evento na Moradia Branca, e fez elogios ao legado de Biden. De tarde, ela foi para Delaware, onde se encontrará com membros da campanha. O presidente Joe Biden também está em Delaware, onde se recupera de uma infecção por Covid.
